Five years ago, in light of allegations of moral misconduct, Jon Booth was immediately removed from his position as an Assistant Director of the Midwest Christian Boys Football Camp (MCBFC). Though the sin in question had no connection to MCBFC, since that day, Jon Booth has had no position, official or unofficial, with MCBFC. After further review, leadership determined that he was (and is) not welcome on MCBFC property in any capacity.
Recently, Tim Booth, Co-Founder and former Co-Director of MCBFC, has submitted his resignation, which has been accepted. Let us be clear, while we know Tim Booth is not guilty of any personal moral misconduct, his decision to place his membership in the church where his son, Jon Booth, is pastor, despite the serious nature of the allegations against Jon Booth, was deeply concerning. As a result, though Tim Booth has since moved his membership, he no longer holds any position at MCBFC and will not be present at MCBFC.
We acknowledge that, in years past, we did not respond to this situation with the level of clarity, transparency, and urgency it warranted. For that, we are grieved. We are committed to doing better, not only in protecting every camper’s physical and spiritual well-being but in communicating clearly and taking action that aligns with God’s Word (Proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”│2 Corinthians 8:21 “Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.”).
At MCBFC, the safety and protection of the young men entrusted to us is not just a priority; it is a sacred responsibility. Our desire is that every pastor and parent can have the utmost confidence in allowing their young men to be a part of MCBFC.
We are committed to rigorous vetting of all staff and volunteers. We maintain strict safety protocols and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for abuse of any kind. Every camper’s safety, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, remains our highest calling.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact us directly at info@mancamp1994.org. We welcome accountability and are determined to uphold the trust placed in us by campers, families, churches, and our Lord.
