An Important Note to All Campers and Coaches
Man Camp is almost here, and if you want to make the most of it, your preparation should start now. One of the biggest advantages you can give yourself (and your team) is solid hydration before camp even begins.
Hydration doesn’t start on Monday morning of camp. You’re already behind if you’re waiting until the first water break on the field to start drinking. Your body takes time to absorb and utilize water efficiently. Start drinking plenty of water now, not just the day before camp, but weeks ahead. That means skip the sugary drinks, energy drinks, and soda, all of which actually dehydrate you. Instead, aim for at least 3–4 full bottles of water each day leading up to camp.
You’ll sweat a lot. You’ll move more than you’re used to. You’ll be out in the sun. You’ll need more than “normal” hydration just to keep up. Showing up already well-hydrated helps prevent cramps, headaches, fatigue, and even injury. It sharpens your focus and gives you the stamina to go hard all week, both on the field and during preaching.
And coaches, we need you at your best, too. These young men are watching, listening, and soaking up everything you give them. Your spiritual investment matters, and your energy will be tested. A lack of hydration could adversely affect your ability to be there for these boys. Drink up now, for their sake and yours.
The Bible says, “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection…” (1 Corinthians 9:27). Discipline isn’t just about big decisions; it’s about small ones, like choosing water over soda. If you want to give your all for Christ at Man Camp 2025, it starts with how you prepare your body.
So don’t wait to hydrate. Start today.
